Abasto

Abasto is a London-based butcher and wine merchant. The creation of renowned chef Diego Jacquet, the name "Abasto," is inspired by the historic market near his birthplace in Buenos Aires, not only carries deep personal significance but also evokes a sense of heritage and local community, making it a memorable brand.

Diego commissioned 72pt to create an Abasto wine label for its own-brand range. The wine label created is a fantastic representation of this connection. By collaborating with illustrators Mike Ibbotson and Ruth Rowland, 72pt was able to craft a design that balances authenticity with modernity. The hand-drawn typography and bespoke sketches of the original Abasto building capture the character of the Buenos Aires market, while also reflecting its cultural and community significance. This kind of design speaks to both a local pride in Buenos Aires and an invitation to Londoners to experience a taste of Argentina.
