Abasto

Abasto is a London-based butcher and wine merchant. The creation of renowned chef Diego Jacquet, the name comes from the historic fruit and vegetable market very close to where he was born, in his hometown Buenos Aires.

Offering an exciting range of Argentine and UK sourced produce, Diego commissioned 72pt to create an Abasto wine label for its own-brand range.

Collaborating with illustrators Mike Ibbotson and Ruth Rowland, 72pt created a uniquely fresh design using a combination of hand-drawn typography and bespoke sketches of the original Abasto building. The illustrations and messaging reflect the character and importance the market to the local community – giving us a little taste of the Argentine capital, here in the centre of London.
